The A7MQ® Life Management Framework

Praise for How to Counsel College & Corporate-Bound Students Training

Praise for How to Counsel College & Corporate-Bound Students Training

If you are responsible for preparing students for life after high school, inquire about our one-day training.  The purpose of this training is to teach busy counselors how to make the best use of the limited time they have to give unbiased advice to the whole student; and feel confident they are working equitably with all students regardless of whether the student chooses to earn a badge, license, industry certification, certificate or degree.

  • Who Should Attend:  This training is designed for counseling professionals who do not have an academic background in aspirational attainment theory or college student development theory.  Participants will be introduced to the innovative A7MQ holistic conceptual framework grounded in theory-based practices that simplify the counseling process.

  • What You Will Learn:  You will be taught how to help students:
  • Answer seven major questions (A7MQ) that prepare them to transition from adolescents to adults,
  • Describe the characteristics of their foreseeable futures in their own voices,
  • Examine the driving forces that compel them to act,
  • Take inventory of their capacity to attain their aspirations,
  • Write relevant goals that are aligned with their foreseeable futures,
  • Design a detailed strategic plan,
  • Identify the parking forces that interfere with the implementation of their plans,
  • Brainstorm alternatives to abandoning their plans when faced with a dilemma.

  • What You Will Get:  Each participant receives:
  • The Life Management: What's Your A7MQ? textbook with built-in assessment instruments that provide a logical rationale for encouraging, giving advice, and advocating for students.  They are also used for record-keeping, data collection and analysis, collaborating, and sharing results with stakeholders.
  • A hand-held guidance wheel that ensures thoroughness and takes the guesswork out of structuring formal, informal, individual, or group counseling sessions.  No technology is necessary.
  • A set of easy-to-use guidance cubes for post-training practice tailored to specific student aspirations.

How to Counsel College- and Corporate-Bound Students has been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors for NBCC credit.  College Student Development Center, Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.  NBCC Approval No. SP-4746.
